Scope

IJAP invites contributions in all areas of philosophy and welcomes interdisciplinary work (e.g., literature, cultural studies, gender studies, law, political science, sociology, history, anthropology, economics) provided there is a substantive philosophical analysis.

Submission Guidelines

Length & Format

  • Research/Review Articles: 3,000–6,000 words
  • Book Reviews: up to 2,000 words
  • Abstract: 150–200 words with 5–7 keywords
  • Typed, double-spaced, with wide margins
  • Endnotes and references at the end of the article
  • Sanskrit terms should follow standard diacritical conventions

Manuscripts accepted from December to July each year for the following December issue.

Style Expectations

  • Focus on original, significant arguments.
  • Avoid unnecessary historical background unless essential.
  • Use quotations sparingly, except in exegetical papers.
  • Submissions must be unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.

Note: Proofs will be sent to authors when feasible. Only minor corrections are permitted at proof stage.




Publication Ethics & Copyright

Editorial Responsibilities
  • Ensure impartial blind peer review.
  • Base decisions on scholarly merit and referee reports.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Reject works involving plagiarism or legal violations.
  • No submission or processing charges are levied.
Referee Responsibilities
  • Provide objective, timely evaluations in their field.
  • Maintain confidentiality during review.
  • Report suspected misconduct.
  • Evaluate manuscripts solely on academic quality.
Author Responsibilities
  • Submit original, unpublished work.
  • Properly cite all sources.
  • Avoid simultaneous submissions.
  • Notify promptly if withdrawing.
  • Respect IJAP copyright provisions once published.

Copyright remains vested with IJAP. Authors may republish their work if IJAP is acknowledged as the original publisher. The Department of Philosophy, Utkal University, does not necessarily endorse views expressed in published articles.
